Our shallow end of the pool. We are
equipped with a handicap stairs. Our pool opens no later then Memorial Day
weekend through mid September depending upon the fall weather.
Oakwood has come a long, long way
in the past few years. Here is a list of
accomplishments our members have done. 2003 -
2009.

In the late
summer of 2003 Christine & Beth clean out and renovate the falling down,
run down, former children's playhouse. They turn it into a Membership
bldg. That folks was the beginning of how Oakwood turned things around.
In the spring of 2004
Oakwood Membership had dropped to 75 members and that included Honorary
Members, some of which hadn't been seen on the grounds in years.
1) 2004 Resided and re roofed our
mower shed.
2) 2004 Resided and re roofed the
Membership Bldg.
3) 2004 Installed new kitchen floor and added
all stainless steel kitchen appliances.
4) 2005 Painted Clubhouse exterior
and siding.
5) 2005 Renovated and painted the
clubhouse interior.
6) 2005 New septic system installed and Phase
1 of having sewer on every lot at Oakwood begins in the summer of 2005
7) 2006 Oakwood
became a Minnesota Licensed Campground.
8) 2006 Archery Range added.
9) Renovation of Woody's begins in the fall of 2006.
10) 2007 most of our 77 lots
now have sewer hookup + electrical and water.
Membership grows.
11) 2007 All
existing Oakwood Roads/streets renovated & we
made a new road in The Pines.
12) 2007 Woody's Pavilion completed with two
state of the art brand new Petanque Courts.
13) 2007 Added our first
new commercial ice maker.
14) Painted & renovated our pool - Spring 2007.
15) 2007 Added all new Pool furniture.
16) 2007
Resided/re-roofed/complete interior and exterior of our old bathhouse.
17) 2007 Members & Visitors Day
area formed outside the front of our clubhouse.
18) 2007 WIFI added free
of charge on the grounds
for members, visitors and guests.
19) 2007 Brand new gas grill added for our Hot
Dog & Brat Stand, and for use by members &
guests.
20) 2008 The grounds are kept neater and
cleaner then ever in the history of the club.
21) 2008 Brand new commercial double oven and
griddle added.
22) 2008 - June - Membership surpasses 150.
This is the largest the club has been in many years.
23) 2008 we added a second "usage" trailer for our visitors and guests.
24) 2009 Renovated
our existing "usage" trailers and added
full hookup.
25) 2009 Second ice maker added 4x larger.
26) 2009 78 of 78 full service lots are filled.
27) 2009 WIFI 1st upgrade covers 80% of the grounds. 2nd upgrade to come
soon.
28) 2009 Caretakers added.
29) Volleyball court renovated replacing poles that were original back
in 1961 when the club moved to it's present location.
30) Commercial bug spraying is used for the first time to keep the Mn.
State Bird at bay - The Mosquito.
31) Labor Day weekend - Membership hits 190.
Our 2010 - 2011
future upgrades.
1) Add
Tennis Court(s) with basketball hoops. This would also double as a hard
surface volleyball court.
2)
Conversation pool/Hot Tub.
3) Maintenance Shed.
4) Other ideas include Dish TV for the clubhouse
and/or kids play area.
